The Lisk’s were one of our founder’s, Dani Cowan Photography’s, wedding clients! While they were in Breckenridge “officially” saying I Do, they wanted to go ahead and get updated family portraits outside of the photos taken on their wedding day, and we happily obliged! If you are traveling to one of Colorado’s beautiful destination wedding locations, it is worth considering taking advantage of all the serene scenery Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, and Aspen have to offer and updating your family photos!
You’ll notice these kiddos were a real hoot during our time together and we wouldn’t have it any other way. With family sessions, we have found that capturing children is best when hey are having FUN, and allow them to feel included by contributing to how they pose. When given the permission to be rambunctious children, we’re able to ensure it’s an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
We really seem to luck out with photographing rambunctious kiddos during family sessions — which we LOVE. While we can see how sometimes parents might feel overwhelmed during their sessions when things get a little hectic, or get upset that their kids are not posing formally and goin haywire right in the middle of “business”, we honestly tend to think it makes for much better photos! We find that these in-between moments tend to be the photos that showcase more of your children’s personality and are often the photos quickest to the printers or to be hung on your walls for all to see.
Next time you’re finding yourself stressed during a photoshoot that your little ones are having a little too much fun, take a deep breath and relax! We can assure you we have it handled, and are happy to let them feel as though they have a say in the shoot. You’ll be glad you did!
