quick facts about us
Being in the luxury wedding industry, our founder, Dani Cowan, quickly realized the lack of an equally refined portraiture service in the mountains. Alas, Colorado Family Photography was created, the first of its kind to ensure premium service, unparalleled product quality, and privileged access to awe-inspiring mountain settings.
We bring a unique look to family photography, portraits, proposals, and maternity photography – one that other studios simply aren’t able to deliver. Our style is romantic, because the setting is romantic. Our colors are ethereal and fairy-tale like, because the environment is much the same. With this built-in framework, our passionate photographers work to create beautiful photographs that help to encapsulate your presence in one of the most beautiful landscapes that our country has to offer. Our focus has been, and will always be, creating a FUN, relaxed experience that everyone can truly enjoy—we’re making memories here, folks!
+ We are firm believers in using our talents to make the world a better place, so we donate a percentage of our monthly profits to charities. Have a favorite organization that you'd love for us to support? Feel free to let us know before your session and we're happy to accommodate!
+ We are 100% women-owned & operated!
+ All of our photographers are local to the towns + resorts we service! This means no tricky business with getting up to the mountains on holidays, chancing pass closures, or inclement weather. We live where we work, just the way it should be!
+ We are a sister company to Dani Cowan Photography! Check out DCP for all your engagement and weddings needs.

This is so hard to pick! During the winter, I'm a big fan of bringing a sled for the kiddos to hop in. It's not only fun for them, but it doubles as a mode of transportation when we walk to our destination and makes for cute pictures along the way! I'm also a sucker for building a snowman, because hello, who doesn't love a good snowman/ snowball fight?!

Portraits are, by design, meant to be cherished forever. This is why we put such an emphasis on getting your photos OFF of your computer and ON to your walls. We live in a digital age, which is ultimately taking away from the splendor of sitting down with old photo albums, chatting over coffee about "remember when". We believe that doesn't have to end. After your photo session, we would be delighted to work one on one with you to create the perfect memory book, gallery wall, or coffee table prints for your guests to shuffle through excitedly during their next visit. It would be our honor to ensure that your memories are preserved in such a tangible way, to be passed down for generations.
